It was found on 6/11/2024 morning that 2 duplicate banners suddenly showed up on FBU main website homepage. It was later on decided that:remove the one from Desktop screen mode,keep only the one on Mobile screen mode.
It was found that the English Homepage display on Mobile screen is not as designed. After fixing its CSS settings, it’s back to normal.
To better maintain homepage editing, limit editing feature only to pre-specified users. Exclude users even with “admin” user role. Implement custom codes to restrict users who can edit homepage to only a group of pre-defined users. It was implemented first on the dev site (4/10/2024), then main site (4/11/2024).
Replace current Alumni News with two sections: TCM Spotlights: Display the latest 6 posts (3 columns x 2 rows) from “TCM Spotlights” Category. Display the first row with the post’s Feature image. Currently the Date format is: Day Month, Year It should be: Month Day, Year Just switch the position (or order) of current Day and Month.
Instead of retrieving Post ID from FBU settings, retrieving the latest post of the corresponding Category as the Featured Post for the Homepage. The Events Section on the Homepage should be based on the Timezone set up in the WordPress General settings which is “Los Angeles” Currently the hour info displayed on the Homepage is different from the hour info entered in the Events. The content of buttons in slider section on the homepage is defined in Slider plugin. The Elementor button widgets currently on the Homepage is not needed. The links are hard-coded with developing site URLs. Not to hard code the links, use WordPress built-in function to retrieve the proper links.
It’s been implemented on English Homepage already. Need to also implement it on the Chinese Homepage.
