Resolve Homepage Slider missing and Landing page redirection issues

The Homepage slider was found missing.

It was later on resolved by deleting cache from WordPress backend.

The Landing page redirection was resolved by modifying the target URL setting.

Resolve errors behind the scene on the Homepage

It was found that there are some errors, warnings, etc. while checking from the DevTool of the browser.

To fix the JavaScript errors, some JavaScript files were updated.

Because the JavaScript built in the Active theme (this theme has not been updated / maintenanced for about two years, see Theme page for more details) were not updated when on the other hand, WordPress has been kept up-to-date, so some features were affected.

After the related JavaScript were updated, the slider feature were upset. Thus extra slider showed up on the homepage.

So those sliders need to be removed from the desktop screen mode.

Resolve double banners on “Future Students” page

In addition to the original banner as designed, there was an extra banner showing up on top of that banner.

It was then removed after removing server end cache. (5/22/2024)

Resolve inaccessibility of main site in Santa Cruz campus

It was found that Santa Cruz campus could not access FBU main website in Santa Cruz campus with “The site can’t be reached” message.

There are 3 IPs used in Santa Cruz campus.

The hosting company later on added those IPs to the whitelist to resolve the issue. (5/14/2024)

Security: Schedule malware scan for once a week

Currently the malware scan is set on the 21st of the month.

But for many websites it may require higher frenquency of scanning than that.

Ask the Liquid Web support to change the setting to once a week to more closely monitoring FBU websites.

Final settings: A cron job was set up to do daily scan at 3:10 am EST (or 12:10 am PST) starting 4/13/2024.

The scan path, as of 5/5/2024 is: /home/orguser/public_html/

An email notification will be sent if any malicious result is found.

The daily scan results can be found in WHM – ImunifyAV – Scan.

An extended ticket was issued (5/5/2024) to cover related subdomain websites:
Extended Ticket: 18350732

The scan paths now (5/5/2024) cover all paths related to the user “orguser”.

Update plugins and theme

Resolve main website down issue

It was found on 4/2/2024 that the main website was down. And the scanned ressults from ImunifyAV showed a couple infected files. After the infected files being removed, the website was still down.

Ask Liquid Web tech support to restore the website from the 4/1/2024 backup version.
