The Tracking LIVE site was infected in 12/2023.

The hosting company does not have a clean backup copy (any copy before 12/9/2023), The available clean backup copy is the local website.

Restoring website content from the local copy to the LIVE website.

Alumni: Soft 404 – Pages being not indexed

Nine out of 10 listed URLs are related to Alumni Directory.

Syncing the Dev site codes and content from the Live site

Alumni – Set User Role to “Contributor” for users without posting listing

Housekeeping on registered alumni

Criteria:

Set users currently with “subscriber” user role to “Contributor” user role if he/she has not posted any listing.

Search from the Sabai Directory Listing, find those users with listing published.

Check against all “subscriber” users, if they are not on the listing author group,
change their user role to “no role”. As shown in the screenshot below.

Need to find exact table(s) and field(s) to update for the user role changes.
It could involve WP vbuilt-in User table, Sabai and Ultimate Membership plugins related Usermeta table.

Collect all authors who have published at least a listing.
Set other users who are not on this author group and whose user role is subscriber, change their user role to “no role”.

Once a user’s role is set to “no role”, it would display “None” on the User list.

For now, set it to Contributor, then strip access control to “Subscriber”.

Resolve the high volume of “Failed Login” on Alumni website

There had been hundreds or even thousands of failed login records found in very short period of time.

Worse yet, the usernames used in the failed logins are mostly, if not all, registered usernames.

More stringent rules were then applied to limit the attempts to login,

such as login lock out feature, change of login page, limit access of REST APIs, etc.

The “Failed Login Record” is now dropped to practically zero.

Housekeeping on temporary or unused websites on the server

There are several temporary / unused websites that were set up while updating / archiving the production site with the new design site.

In addition, with the after restructuring existing websites, the temporary / intermediate website(s) should be removed as well.

The following websites were removed:

test.fivebranches.org

Restructure eva.study.fivebranches.edu site to eva.fivebranches.edu site

Currently, eva.study.fivebranches.edu site is a subdomain website of study.fivebranches.edu site.

Rename it to eva.fivebranches.edu, and

Restructure it to be a subdomain website of www.fivebranches.edu site.

Apply Google Custom Search Engine to www.fivebranches.edu site

Current www.fivebranches.edu site is updated from dev site content.

But the search feature on the production should be serviced by Google Custom Search Engine (CSE)

Change current WordPress search to Google CSE.

Search results should be displayed as regular Google CSE display format.
